COURSE DESCRIPTION

First Aid Level 1

For persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.

First Aid Level 2 – Provide Risk Based Primary Emergency Care/First Aid in the Workplace

COURSE DESCRIPTION

First Aid Level 2

For persons to enable them to provide primary emergency care (first aid) in response to an occupational risk induced or any health emergency in their specific workplaces.

Course Pre-Requisites

Not limited to:
Employees, Supervisors, Managers, Retail, Tour Guides, Construction, Manufacturing, Drivers and General Public

PRE-REQUISITES – SETA ACCREDITATION:

It is desirable for learners wishing to achieve this unit standard to be competent at:
• Communication at ABET Level 3
• Mathematical Literacy at ABET Level 3

It is desirable for learners wishing to achieve this unit standard to be competent at:
• Communication at NQF Level 1 or ABET Level 4 and
• Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
In order for the learner to achieve this unit standard the learner must already be competent in:
• Unit Standard ID 14656: “Demonstrate an understanding of sexuality and sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS”.
