COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Enable participant to apply basic health and safety legislation in the form of standards and procedures governing health and safety in the workplace, to ensure that they contribute to a safe, healthy environment for themselves and others.

PRE-REQUISITES – SETA ACCREDITATION:

It is desirable for learners wishing to achieve this unit standard to be competent at: GETC NQF Level 1 literacy and numeracy competencies.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The participant will be able to apply basic health and safety legislation in the form of standards and
procedures governing health and safety in the workplace as well as ensure that they contribute to a safe, healthy environment for themselves and others.

COURSE OUTLINE:

• Identify potential hazards in the work area.
• Limit damage to persons or property in the case of an emergency.
• Follow procedures that apply to illness or injury in the work area.

Courses will commence with a minimum of 6 participants to a maximum of 15 participants
