PRE-REQUISITES (SETA ACCREDITATION)       

 It is assumed that learners are competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at Level 3.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is intended for all managers who should know the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the consequences of non-compliance. It will be beneficial for managers at all levels as well as safety and security officers, compliance officers, safety committees and safety representatives.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Understanding the basic principles of the Act and accompanying Regulations.
  • Explaining the requirements for minimum compliance stipulated in the Act.
  • Interpreting the management controls required to achieve compliance.
  • Understanding the record keeping required by the Act.
  • Explaining the obligations of managers in terms of communication and training.

Public courses will commence with a minimum of 6 participants to a maximum of 15 participants
